Does True Love Exist?

A question that plagues many, regardless of which world you live on.  To her knowledge, no demon has ever asked that question except Morgalla. She dares not inquire that to any other of her kind, not even her mentor Delilah.  Because of the Demon desire to dominate and “own” their mates, Morgalla never sought out a lover of her own species.  Humans though might bring hope to her question though they have not been much better.  Humans often desire the pleasures of the flesh a bit too much.

It would be pointless though, for if any human ever found out about her true self, if they knew just what she was, would they ever accept her?  This is one of the causes of Morgalla’s cynicism.  She cannot show her true face to the humans on Earth for they will freak.  If the creatures of Hell knew how she really was, her dislike of needless violence and carnage then she would surely be in big trouble.

            Love, it’s a waste of time…isn’t it?

No cape, no big “M”, but she does sometimes wear spandex but that’s because it looks good on girls.  She wears a mask but not in a conventional sense.  Ironically, it is the human face that is her mask and she removes it to perform acts of heroism.

She does however have villains that invade her life and make it more difficult than it has to be.  Sometimes it’s someone who wants to kill her, or perhaps a male that wants more than she is willing to give.  There could also be a disaster in which an innocent life is in danger.  Another demon would watch with zeal but Morgalla would not.

Something about her was different, not wanting to watch the pain and suffering of human beings.  But what made her different from others?  She had never desired that what Demons crave and lust for.  If anything she felt more in common with humans than anyone else.  Perhaps willing to risk her life for one.

So maybe she is a hero of sorts just not in the traditional sense.  Where some heroes would take the bad guys to jail, if they’re dangerous enough Morgalla would kill them.  It’s not because of sadism or revenge but more like logical thinking.  Growing up in Hell has made her a bit cold-blooded but she has done what was needed to survive.

“If an evil, sadistic jerk is just going to come back and try to kill me and my friends, why would I let him live?  I’ll kill him today so he won’t come back tomorrow!”

Be thankful she’s on our side.

You Look Familiar

Magical beings often have servants from the animal kingdom all too willing to assist in their, what often turn out to be, their nefarious endeavors.  These animals are known as “familiars”, beasts who act as the most loyal of minions to their master’s whims.  Witches have cats, wizards  sometimes have little dragons.  Demons are no different when it comes to minions but usually they would prefer to possess a sentient being such as a human or even another demon as their familiar.

By definition, they’re not familiars but more like slaves.  Morgalla, thinking that slavery is wrong, will not “take” anyone as hers.  She does not choose a familiar but one will choose her.  Freezing in the snow after escaping an abusive home, a miniature Dachshund will be discovered by Morgalla who will make an offer to the dog.  Following her home to her modest apartment, the dog will be invited in, a choice that will change her life forever.  The dachshund could tell Morgalla’s good nature and decided to stay with her, a loyal companion if ever there was one.  Giving the dog the name Jeepers, she would become Morgalla’s familiar and be blessed with a high I.Q. And the ability to talk.

They would become the surrogate mother/daughter in each other’s lives.  Jeepers would be allowed to go with Morgalla where ever she would go.  Trough her powers of suggestion, Morgalla would convince people that the dog was a small child, so she could go anywhere with her “momma”.

Though not related by blood, Jeepers would seem to adopt some of Morgalla’s more colorful personality traits.  Annoy or insult her and you might hear the words “Kiss my butt primate!” uttered from what appears to be a two-year-old child.

Guns Are Annoying

Only weapons of a magical origin can dare injure a demon.  There are plenty of lesser beings in Hell that are easily killed but the greater beings are quite difficult to kill.  Morgalla is one of these beings, the only way to kill one is to give them a wound great enough to kill them instantly otherwise they’ll regenerate within minutes, even seconds.  Cut off a limb, it will grow back and their desire for revenge will grow.  Losing and regrowing an arm or leg is painful.  Demons do not like using guns for two reasons:

 1.      They enjoy killing their prey up close and personal.  Blades violate the flesh better than a bullet.

hippies-smell

2.      Mostly pride, not wanting to use a weapon forged by the lowly human race.

Morgalla can’t seem to fire a gun to save her life.  Well it can fire well enough, but the bullets fired seem to hit nothing but air or the wall behind them.  She is a killing machine when the time is necessary.  She does not “need” guns anyway, usually a different kind of weapon or even her bare hands is good enough.

Bullets are usually useless against Demons anyway.  They work fine against the lesser beings for sure but for Morgalla and others like her the worst bullets could do is bruising.  The only guns they need fear are the kind mounted on aircraft. An enemy of Morgalla could fire a gun at her and even hit, but one might hear the words “OW!  Knock that off, that stings!”  The next thing they see is a pissed off Demon headed towards them.

Don’t Mess With Me, I Grew Up in Hell

Demons do not date, do not fall in love or believe in “unions” as humans do.  In Hell you

either dominate or are dominated.  Children are no different, bred and raised to bring honor to

one’s name or to the family.  Some Demon Lords have bred children to be used as generals when

they reach adulthood.

cold-steel-in-heat

Morgalla’s childhood was unique even by demon standards.  Her mother’s identity a secret

and immediately following her death Morgalla was passed onto others by her father to be raised

and protected.  By her father’s command she was to be protected and fed, nothing else was

required.  His orders vauge, the ones charged with Morgalla’s protection taught her all she needed

to know.  When she reached late childhood she began her training in all known forms of combat

known by Demons.  Her trainer would be the demon/dragon hybrid named Delilah who would teach

Morgalla how to fight and defend herself.  She was amazed how powerful her apprentice was but

her father is a Demon Lord after all, one of the most powerful.

In her late teens Morgalla was pretty much on her own though Delilah continued to train

her.  It was her intention to help Morgalla be all she could be so that they would fight side by side

in conquering other worlds.  Morgalla’s pacifism would be a problem though.  Upon adulthood she

would take the position of spy, much to the disappointment of her teacher.

The Realm of Hell

What?

What are you looking at?

There are countless worlds among the dimensional sea. The most feared of all these worlds is the Realm of Hell, responsible for the death and suffering of countless beings. The unnamed master of Hell demands the conquest of all worlds. Tyrants of such unimaginable cruelty have hordes of minions at their disposal. In return for such power, both in body and authority, these Demon Lords must deliver the death or servitude of all human beings regardless of which world they live on. No one knows why, but the Lord of Hell seems to have a personal vendetta against the human race.

To many civilizations Hell is the worst of realities, a place whose name is feared. To some lucky civilizations it is merely legend, to some it’s a figment of mythology and to some it’s a hallmark of religion. These particular worlds are blessed with ignorance of the true horrors of Hell. One such blessed worlds…is Earth.

In recent centuries, a more pragmatic approach has been taken in the conquest of worlds. Demons trained in espionage and reconnaissance infiltrate worlds to tell if conquest is possible and reasonable. With the ability to change their forms to appear human, information gathering can be quite easy depending on the world. There are many agents who visit these worlds constantly. One such agent is Morgalla, daughter to the Demon Lord Zorach.

Her entire life Morgalla has felt different from all other Demons. Where her demonic brethren relished in the suffering of others, Morgalla did her best to avoid it. She then jumped at the opportunity for the reconnaissance assignment for it keeps her away from mass amounts of violence. She can then play down the importance of a planet so Hell will pass it over for something more important. Her current assignment, a small overpopulated world called Earth.

You Think YOUR Job Sucks?

Demons are not one to stand on ceremony or rely too much on rank and title.  There are very few jobs and positions that actually have a name.  Everyone knows their place and their duty and any of them can be replaced without notice.

sword-and-cloak

Morgalla’s job, if it had a title, would be “spy”.  Of the many discovered worlds, she chose Earth to visit and spy upon often primarily because of it’s ignorance.  The humans there do not know of her species and she can easily take the form of a human being.  She also enjoys this job because she usually does not have to be violent and she doesn’t have to hang out with other demons.

Her mission is simple:  Gather information about Earth.  How important is it?  How easy would it be to conquer?  What is its value?  Earth has a huge population, the Dark One would indeed love to see them all dead or as slaves.  But since Earth has learned to split the atom, Demons have been hesitant to try an invasion.  Morgalla’s has played upon this, exaggerating their willingness to use nuclear weapons.  Morgalla’s greatest fear is that the forces of Hell may disregard her recommendation completely.
